The Premier's Spelling Bee was introduced in 2004 as a fun and educational way for primary school students to engage in spelling. The program includes activities to encourage all students to engage with spelling and to promote improved literacy in combination with the English K-6 Syllabus.
Dunedoo Central School will be holding a spelling bee during the beginning of term 3 to select 2 senior Primary and 2 junior primary students to represent our school at the regional finals in Dubbo in Term 3.
These regional finals will take place between Monday 9 September and Friday 20 September (Weeks 9 and 10 of Term 3). The Premier's Spelling Bee Coordinator will advise schools of the dates and venues of regional finals in early Term 3. The winner of each division of each regional final goes on to the state finals (please note: the runner-up does not). They will be be held on Wednesday 6 November 2013 in the Eugene Goossens Hall, ABC Centre, Ultimo.
Spelling bee announcement was in the Newsletter June 17th and students will need to sign up in the library on Thursday June 20th and get a list of words to start practising! If you would like to see or have lost your word list click on the link below.
